What If Hillary Gets the Nod?
| Before we get to that, a couple of myths to debunk: |
Myth 1: All Women Are For Hillary
The Nameless GenXer is a woman. She has bumped her head on the glass ceiling a lot since entering the workplace in the early 80s, including one time when her boss's boss actually introduced her as "the token woman on the team" during a client meeting, where she was, in fact, the only woman in a group of twenty. She finally wised up, started her own business, and now has a lovely home office with TWO windows, where she works in her pajamas and listens to, like, excellent tunes all the time, dude. Sometimes she puts on Judas Priest and gets a little misty-eyed thinking about the good old days of Tipper Gore. We love ya, Hill, but you're still a preachy Boomer. |

Myth 2: Obama Fans Will Bail on Hillary (and vice versa)
The Republican talking heads, in their increasingly panicked desperation to find any positive indicator,
all seem to think that the current 50/50 split between Barack and Hillary bodes well for them.
What they fail to realize is that, unlike them, our collective goal is not to win at any cost, but to bring about the demise of this Republican party, relegating it to the last century where it belongs, along with:
- the military-industrial mind set that foolishly believes that the War on Terror can be won
with soldiers and tanks
- good old boy ownership of elected officials
- racial and religious intolerance
- coat-hanger abortions
- the threat to our country posed by the blind ignorance and circa 1950 mentality of the televangelical extremist right, which is so obviously wrong for America and the global
community in 2008.
|
| So what will we do if Senator Clinton is the Democratic Nominee? |
| We will: |
- vote for her on November 4th, of course, with hopes that she can rise above the Boomer tendency to turn
everything into a quagmired ideological argument and actually get something done.
- actively seek out no-nonsense GenX replacements for our Boomer (and, ugh! older) Senators and Representatives in the next
three off-year elections.
- continue to pay for ownership of this domain name and resurrect this site in 2012,
if necessary.
